Oh my dear..
I discovered this fragrance at the local Netto, it was offered in a gift set with deodorant, nice and annoying at the same time since there was no tester in sight, but an internet check of the fragrance notes promised something promising and it was indeed :)
The fruity components are rather subdued; despite raspberry and lychee in the top notes, it doesn't come across as sour at all, but rather fresh and elegant in combination with the freesia, to which the rose also contributes, coming through beautifully and not at all annoyingly synthetic. Thank goodness, because I'm not really a fan of roses. My Dear scores full points with the base, which is rich and delicious and somehow even spicy-powdery, but without crushing the pleasantly light floral flair. It fits perfectly with the listed fragrance notes, only the patchouli has remained far in the background and is not dominant. Again, lucky for me ;)
Thus, the fragrance truly becomes an all-rounder, floral elegant, yet fresh and playful, the sweetness is still bearable and ends with a hint of spice in rich powderiness. I could easily imagine wearing it in any season, possibly even in summer. I wouldn’t call it a skin scent, as you definitely perceive it as a PERFUME and it doesn't come across in a subtle way. After the first spray, I thought to myself, okay nice but 0815.. However, after giving it some time, it became increasingly likable on my skin, and I noticed that although it is not a stroke of genius from the perfumer's art, it actually lifted my spirits within 20 minutes! And that promptly made it a candidate for purchase. The really beautiful bottle is an additional bonus. At 90ml for a tenner, you can't complain. The sillage is just right for me, not too much and not too little, and the longevity is as expected for this price range, in the lower middle field, although my nose seems to get used to the scent quickly.
It was interesting to find out that the same fragrance notes are listed in La Rive's Dream, which is in turn a dupe of Armani's Diamonds. Since I don't know that one yet, it's next on my testing list. Until then, My Dear will do just fine ;)
