Montale....and the Rose

I took the Black Aoud by Montale with me on a paper strip when I purchased another fragrance. When the scent landed on the paper strip, it struck me as somewhat annoyingly overpowering. I shoved the paper strip into my pocket and didn’t pay it any further attention.
When I got home and spread out the collected scent strips (I’ve recently started writing the names of the fragrances on the strips) neatly on the dresser, the scent of Black Aoud wafted out from my pocket. However, I no longer found it bothersome, but rather very interesting. Throughout the entire evening, I kept smelling the strip and found it increasingly appealing. The scent lingered intensely in the whole room for days, just from that paper strip. Only then did I also detect the more intense rose, which I had never been able to appreciate in rose fragrances before. Now this scent had practically taken me "hostage." The strength of the rose and its intensity filling an entire room through a paper strip. Simply fantastic!
I mainly perceive the scent as an intense rose, with patchouli, oud, and mandarin perhaps only on the periphery. I find it smells really fresh, and you can wear it well in warmer temperatures. Additionally, this fragrance has something noble and elegant, and the sillage and longevity are gigantic. The strap in my car smells of it for weeks. Now I am on the lookout for a suitable floral shirt.... well, I owe that to this wonderful rose scent from Montale. From skepticism, total enthusiasm for this fragrance has developed in me, and I am happy to have landed on a rose scent. I never thought I would....
