Relaxed fragrance in a futuristic bottle
During our vacation in the Sauerland, we also made a detour to Paderborn. The primary goal was the Heinz Nixdorf Museumsforum. Afterwards, a city stroll was on the agenda. Of course, we also discovered the TK-M...... branch there and decided to take a look.
At first glance, the fragrance corner didn't offer anything interesting. I stumbled upon the only bottle from Claude Montana by chance, and at the affordable price, I didn't hesitate long and took it with me.
Some time ago, I had already tested the fragrance, so it wasn't a blind purchase.
I was already familiar with the bottle design. The second "women's fragrance" from Montana was released in this futuristically shaped bottle back then. However, the current fragrance has nothing in common with the former Parfum d' Elle.
Claude Montana is a fine and relaxed fragrance, in my opinion. Although it remains quite understated, it has very good longevity. On my skin, it easily lasts 12 hours.
The defining note is a fine mix of sandalwood and cedarwood. The floral components always resonate subtly. For me, the rose comes through the most here. The peach in the opening is also processed only subtly, giving the fragrance a delicate fruity aroma.
The base notes make sense, but they don't really come through clearly to my nose. They only add a subtle sweetness to the fragrance, and the musk provides additional creaminess.
Claude Montana is for me a fragrance to make myself comfortable on the couch during dreary weather or when I want to smell unpretentiously.
Finally, I would like to say a few words about the designer Claude Montana.
He was one of the most influential fashion designers in the early 80s. His designs were characterized by broad shoulders, narrow waists, and lavish collars. He was also referred to as the architect of fashion. His early bottle designs reinforced this image.
With the rising minimalism of the 90s, he lost more and more significance, and by the early 2000s, he completely withdrew from the fashion business.
By the way, there is also a rose named after him.

I just always worry that peach with cream will remind me of Trésor. (My always & ever anti-fragrance).
I'd definitely prefer this lovely scent over dull peach tones ;-)
