I recently got this fragrance, I would say it resembles my Aventus by 85%. An absolutely great alternative. But people who want more power/oomph, for example, from the pineapple and general fruity fresh magic, can unfortunately only get that from the OG Aventus. The Explorer is rather a calmer, quieter version of Aventus. Maybe this is preferred by some, as the Aventus is too intense for some.
Now back to the Montblanc Explorer, the opening is very, very nice and fresh, not overpowering, fruity notes are definitely present. Sillage is quite okay, the scent is very pleasant, those who like fresh scents will find this fragrance to be just right. I would say it's best to test it beforehand.
Lastly, the dry down is absolutely amazing. I love the dry down of this fragrance, for me, the MB Explorer has one of the most pleasant dry downs.
