An underrated offering

My first ever review. Here it goes!

This is quite a pleasant scent. Nothing ground-breaking or Earth-shattering, but still nice. There is this open, airy, aromatic quality to it, but still has a little bit of a backbone to it, thanks to the woods and cardamom. This opens up nicely with lime/green-citrus and mint. Not too sharp or bitter off my skin at all. I'm positive the note list on Fragrantica is incomplete, because there must be lavender in this, and it makes itself known pretty quickly when the green-citrus dies down a little (after ~10 minutes). The ingredients seem well blended for the price point (can be found for $40-$50 AUD if you look for it), and you'll have a hard time offending people with this scent.

Longevity and projection seems to be a little fleeting. I can smell this for about 3, maybe 4 hours at best, however I have received compliments after the 5 hour mark, using two sprays on the neck, and one on each wrist.

The compliment factor for me is surprisingly good with this fragrance. I usually don't get a lot of unsolicited compliments from either strangers, or people I know in general. However, this fragrance has gotten me compliments from women whom I don't know around my workplace, ranging in age from 20's to 40's (I'm 23 myself).

I don't think this fragrance shares a lot of the typical "Legend" DNA at all. Having said this, I'm yet to get my nose on the original Legend, but own Legend Intense and Legend Spirit, and whilst those two fragrances share some similarities to an extent, Special Edition 2014, seems to be a black sheep, so to speak.

Perhaps best suited for Spring, hot Summer nights or warmer Autumn weather, this is my favourite fragrance from the Legend series.
