Representing all (old) Montblancs: a true delight!

I mentioned elsewhere that I only became aware of Montblanc as an EDT manufacturer through Parfumo. At Douglas or in duty-free shops, this brand has never been recommended to me. I don't even know if they were ever in stock. Unfortunately, with Legend and Emblem along with their flankers, there are only two fragrances left in the current offering. Presence is unfortunately no longer included, nor are Starwalker and Individuel! :-(

Presence can still be ordered for little money. I paid 35 euros for 75 ml. Like the other mentioned fragrances, this scent impresses me with a finely balanced fruitiness that I have only detected in a few perfumes so far. The sillage is by no means intrusive, but still noticeable for several hours at about half an arm's length, especially when sitting at the computer in the office and casually moving my nose towards the keyboard! ;-)

I want to write about Montblancs in general here - also because I am not a "perfume sommelier." Legend is certainly the most mass-compatible scent (a kind of fougère), Starwalker the freshest, Individuel the fruitiest, and Presence the sweetest. I find them all fascinating and very distinctive! Only Legend Spirit disappointed me, and Emblem seems to me, based on the reviews, to be too sweet-gourmand.

I am simply thrilled by the perfect balance of the (old) Montblanc fragrances (including Legend) and of course the excellent price-performance ratio. None of them comes across as overpowering or intrusive! The sweetness is not too cloying, the freshness not too fleeting, the fruitiness not too one-dimensional, and the fougère not too mainstream. Perhaps it was good that four different perfumers were involved here, each able to showcase their own signature, with the briefing perhaps stating: "Do something unique, but remain brand-compatible. We like it original, but not too extreme! We stand for high class, but not for decadence!" ;-)

In any case, I am delighted by the discovery of four wonderful fragrances that are absolutely suitable for everyday wear yet still have their own distinct character. And to return to Presence: Even when you read apple, cardamom, and cinnamon: Let yourself be surprised! It has little to do with the Christmas market... unless Christmas Eve is moved to summer and there's a roller coaster involved! ;-)

@Chevalier: The "fougère" referred to Legend. I just threw a lot into the mix here! Sorry, but I was just in the mood for it! ;-)

@Chevalier
The scent is available for €24 to €27 for 75ml in almost all online shops - as Hako already mentioned, €35 is a bit pricey.

I can only agree with Farneon that the "old" fragrances were/are better than the new ones; including Individuel and Legend Spirit aka "freshly ironed laundry from the dryer."

@Chevalier Try Google or the search function here on Parfumo.
@Farneon I don't know where you ordered it, but you could have gotten it much cheaper.

**Presence** was truly an extraordinary scent. Where can I still order it? It's long gone from my mind, even though it was the top fragrance from Montblanc. I thought Amber, Musk, and Cardamom are less Fougere and more aligned with Oriental notes.
