Myrsol - a Gem from Spain
How and where to begin?
Since the so-called aftershaves in the forum, which I prefer to call old-fashioned shaving waters, are somewhat neglected or even completely overlooked, I am writing my first comment about these wonderful aftershaves.
First of all: there are now 9 different aftershaves in this series as well as 2 emulations - as far as I am informed -
A bit about the history of this Spaniard
MYRSOL is a small Spanish family business that has been producing mainly men's cosmetics for over 75 years. It was founded in 1940 by Don Miguel Ricou Soler, who was already considered one of the best hairdressers in the barbershops of Barcelona at a young age. During his work, he encountered a variety of beard and skin types and was aware of the diverse skin problems of his clients, such as irritations, allergies, etc. After extensive study of various topics related to beauty, cosmetics, and hairdressing, his great passion - experimenting with chemical formulas and recipes - eventually led him to develop all sorts of wonderful shaving cosmetics, and he finally founded the company MYRSOL.
Today, in the third generation, led by Don Carlos Aldecoa Ricou, the company still offers classic products, including many traditional aftershave varieties in the same nostalgic glass bottles as in the 1940s.
My favorite Myrsol aftershaves are:
Formula/ Extra - orange - warm, sweet, slightly powdery, mentholated - I would like to "bathe" in this -.) - the proximity to the also wonderful Floid aftershave is already given by the color but also by the refreshing menthol content - for me, however, it is different and more lovable than that of Floid -
Formula/C - light green - spicy, fruity-bitter - slightly cooling and refreshing in summer
Antesol - honey-colored - can also be used before shaving - subtle scent - light - fresh - with allantoin and a bit of menthol - a classic barbershop scent -
Formula K Mentolado - dark green - peppermint scent - invigorating, refreshing - with menthol content - a true summer scent and pleasantly good when applied from a pocket sprayer in between.
I have had and made the following experiences:
Blue - blue - a fresh, masculine barbershop scent - unfortunately rather short-lived - I prefer the Floid "Blue," which is spicier and more intense with better longevity and sillage.
Don Miguel - light orange - is a tribute to the company founder Miguel Ricou Soler, who was born in 1919 and passed away in 2015 - a wonderful subtle jasmine scent - those who know jasmine know how enchanting this scent can be - I think it should also please the lady of the house - so behind the earlobe -.)
Furthermore, there is:
Agua de Limon - light yellow - a fresh-bitter citrus scent -
Metilsol - light cream-colored - an herbal scent with menthol content
Plastic Shave - pink - a slightly sweet scent - reminiscent of a hair salon, at least that's what it says - now every hair salon scent is certainly interpreted differently - until now, I had not yet had the "pleasure" of this loud pink scent candy -
Yesssss, these Spaniards - they really know how to create caring, uniquely scented, wonderfully summer and sun-scented, sometimes very refreshing men's fragrances.
Myrsol is a classic in shaving circles just like Floid, the good Ed Pinaud, or Proraso.
The scents are also available here, all priced under 20€ per nostalgia bottle (these are also so wonderfully old-fashioned and with their inner curves, they fit very well in the hand).
Oh yes, and there is plenty of content inside. 180ml - isn't that something?
I recommend every shaving gentleman of creation to treat himself to one (or all -.) ) of these wonderful aftershaves for his face.
Simply W-O-N-D-E-R-F-U-L !!!!!
