I would argue that most people who smell Pure Musc for the first time have an immediate first impression - either you love it, or you hate it. However, this impression doesn't have to be permanent, as my example clearly shows.
When I first smelled Pure Musc, I spontaneously thought, "Oh my God, how sweet and kitschy it is." - But then the scent immediately reminded me of something from my childhood. Even though I still can't say exactly what it is, thoughts of pastel-colored children's makeup, glittery unicorn castles, and Barbie hair flashed through my mind. In my case, this is usually a sign that I will like a perfume, regardless of the initial impression. At first, I was also a bit hesitant about the final verdict, as the fresh clean sweetness can indeed be quite confusing at first. But in this case, Pure Musc eventually found a place in my collection.
Pure Musc is certainly not a scent that everyone will like - many people find it extremely sweet and overpowering. However, since it projects quite subtly on the skin or clothing, the scent is not only very wearable (basically almost for any occasion), but also a good layering candidate.
Conclusion: Despite its moderate sillage, Pure Musc is a scent whose smell is very unique and memorable, and it definitely has the potential to become a classic. Whether you like musk scents or not, Pure Musc is something you should at least smell once.
