Wow, with the first sniff, it hits you right in the nose, and Christian Plesch hits the G-spot of the receptors for peppery-spicy and citrusy-sour scents. In this top note, he seems to have packed in everything that really clears your head: sour notes of grapefruit and lime that immediately stimulate saliva production are paired with the sharp notes of pink pepper and zesty ginger. Added to this are the sulfur notes that are already contained in grapefruit. But they are cranked up significantly, enhancing the spiciness and acidity even further. Refreshing, but with a Schweppes face. It tingles and even burns a little in the nose. A quasi-sadistically enhanced cologne. Very sour, spicy, a bit of nasal BDSM, and definitely quite awesome!
As it develops, the flowers slowly come to the fore (I especially notice a greenish shimmering rose), but they are always kept on a short leash by the pepper and acidity. This is not about romance, but about fun and action! Nevertheless, the scent becomes a bit softer, but at the same time also a little dirty. Probably due to jasmine and the emerging leathery notes. Heated skin and lascivious touches. But just a hint of it, as if the nose and brain are just being teased a little. Interestingly, the flowers of the heart note also combine on my skin to create a slight hint of lilac.
Slowly, the candidates of the heart note make their appearance. After the heated and action-packed top note and the floral-mundane-dirty heart with flowers on the pillow, it now becomes a bit more composed and masculine with cedar, bitter-dark vetiver, patchouli, and dark cocoa that doesn’t come off as gourmand at all. In retrospect, I remember having sensed a slight cocoa hint already in the heart note. I just couldn’t quite place it. But who thinks of a cup of cocoa when the G-spot has just been hit?! Not even a chocoholic can manage that.
It’s interesting that this fragrance manages to create a tension curve over actually three different scents. In the top, the BDSM EdC, in the heart a slightly naughty floral scent with lemon pepper, and now at the end a dark-masculine scent that you just want to cuddle up to.
All of this is held together by two components: On one hand, there’s the peppery sharpness of pink pepper and ginger; and on the other, a sparkling, fresh, effervescent, and fragrant base mood that I would best describe as "Pleschinade" or "Nasal Goldinade" now that I know all three scents from Christian Plesch.
I only have slight deductions in the B-note, as I would have liked a bit more stimulation in the heart and base. While it’s all fun and great, it feels a bit too tame compared to the knockout top note. A little more exciting sex would have suited me well.
But that’s complaining at a high level! With G., Nasengold has given me a wonderful and quite satisfying nasal orgasm. And I’m extremely curious about what else Christian Plesch has to offer in terms of scents.
Great comment on a fantastic fragrance, but unfortunately, it doesn't last long on me. After the really amazing top note fades, it just lingers like sweet gummy candies.
Cheers to you! :)
