cozy autumn scent

Imagine a day like today: It's cold outside, the leaves are changing color, there's a light drizzle, and little light. What could be better than snuggling up at home with a cup of tea, candles, and a lovely fragrance.
Natori fits wonderfully into this picture:

It starts with a slightly aldehydic note that strongly reminds one of fragrances from the 70s/80s. Natori from 2009 is also a reissue of the original from 1980 (which I unfortunately do not know).
In this reissue, the aldehydic top note disappears very quickly, almost like a homage to the old times. A brief flicker of rose and plum follows, nestled in a warm, gentle base note.

Over time, it becomes deeper and spicier. I especially perceive patchouli, and jasmine also comes into play. In the background, the rose/plum note still resonates.
Spread out on the skin, it is already a relatively heavy, seductive oriental.
I find it also perfectly matches those kaftans and robes that can be viewed on Natori's website (apparently, this is a lingerie company). A bit old-fashioned, not quite in tune with the times, but still somehow quite pretty, in my opinion.

Natori surprised me because even though I am not overly fond of aldehydes, roses, or patchouli, the interplay here creates a very pleasing fragrance. Normally, I am someone for whom patchouli often comes out so strongly that one might think I just emerged from a crypt.
Fortunately, that is not the case here ;-)

Conclusion: For those looking for something to snuggle up with and reminisce, Natori is the right choice.
