Unsweetened Cocoa Cedes to Powdery Purple Flower Drydown
The dominant unsweetened cocoa note opening of Nez à Nez MARRON CHIC reminded me immediately of La Perla ECLIX. From there, the two diverge quite a bit, with MARRON CHIC drying down to a fine powdery floral iris and violet perfume with only a touch of gourmand feeling. I do not find this composition all that sweet, and I believe that the sweetness is more from the naturally sweet quality of violet than from added sugar or vanilla.
MARRON CHIC is a subtle creation, with a near skin-scent feeling once it has dried down. I like this perfume, but I think that I prefer ECLIX for my cocoa fix and INFUSION D'IRIS for a powdery iris.
