The Journey into Fire

I have come to know a few perfumes that smell of ash and fire - burnt and hot - through some samples, and I have now acquired several of this kind.

Fan Your Flames is one of them - and I must say at this point that I personally find this scent simply incredible.

Initially strongly smoky, fresh from the sprayer, the scent is somewhat of an acquired taste, and it takes a while for it to develop on my skin. However, then coconut and tonka come to the fore, mixed with the wood and the strong rum note that runs through the entire fragrance, making it a bit sweeter - I would almost say pleasing, even though I know that this type of scent is not for everyone.

The longevity is brutal on my skin. It easily lasts all day, and the sillage is - sometimes to the lament of those around me - also very, very good - but since this is my current favorite scent, I admit that I sometimes apply it quite heavily.

A fragrance, a bit like a dwarf tavern. Smoky, tobacco-heavy... and the strong alcohol first... but still, one is tempted to sit down on old wooden benches next to the fire - to order a strong schnapps and some sweet cakes from the somewhat grim, tough innkeeper.

Yeah, if I spray three times in the morning, I can still smell it on my fingers the next morning after scratching my neck 😂
