Symbiosis - An ode to Nefs

Some fragrances enter into a symbiosis. Fragrance and person enter into a connection, often provoked by an emotional reaction. Sometimes it takes a while, you have to warm up to each other first, or the fragrance acquires a certain significance through the time it has been worn. The other case is that you immediately notice how much you like the scent you have sprayed on and how much it reflects your own nature. This phenomenon is of course completely subjective, but can be observed and read about by many fragrance enthusiasts. Long story short: I was immediately smitten with Nefs after the first spray. It was immediately clear: this is my fragrance. I have to have it. I ordered a bottle before the bottling ran out.

And before one or two people here lose interest, I want to explain what it smells like.

Nefs starts with fig, honey and woods. Above all, a beguiling sweetness but also a very slight sourness can be detected. It all seems very smooth and finely balanced. Not too sweet or overpowering, but just right. Right from the opening, you witness high perfume craftsmanship.
After the notes have finished their initial dance, they fall into a soft bed of roses and absolutely pleasing oud. The oud is not animalic at all and serves more as a creamy, woody base that holds the complex work together. The more hours pass, the more present this basic structure becomes until the fragrance can finally be broken down almost exclusively to these two notes. But even in the drydown, you can still feel the sweetness of the honey.

According to my observations, the course of the fragrance also depends on the season. In winter, the rose is much more prominent, while in summer or on warmer days, the honey is more prominent. In my opinion, Nefs can be worn almost all year round and especially in the evening. I wouldn't use it as a daily wear or wear it to the office, it's too special and too elegant for that. For me, it has unfolded its true and absolute potential on summer evenings. In particular, the previously described sweetness of the honey, which becomes much more present, invites you to linger and has cast a spell over me.

The sillage is absolutely room-filling, especially for the first few hours. This subsides somewhat after 3-4 hours, but it is still very noticeable. Nefs lasts forever, often until the next morning and beyond, you can speak of 14h+.

For me, Nefs is a masterpiece. A fragrance with which I associate a lot, which I wore at a certain time as a signature and which has therefore stored many memories in itself.
A fragrance that stands out, polarizes and will inevitably bring compliments and reactions. I associate Nefs with long evenings, dates, dreamy nights and stargazing. There's something about the fragrance that can't be explained, it suits me, it embodies me in a way that I don't understand. It gives me self-confidence because it is like me. The scent in the beeswax-like, golden grid, which now also functions as a dream memory and time capsule for me, has simply done it to me.
