Beautiful Saffron Praline with Flowers
No review for this fragrance yet? I'm surprised. Even this rather mediocre rating for a niche fragrance is disappointing, especially when considering the previously hyped scents from this brand. Overall, this brand seems to have faded away in terms of hype, and the more recent releases have flopped. I haven't tested the newer releases, but fortunately, I did test this one, as I find it damn good. A sample was included with an order, and it was love at first sniff. Not for me, but for a lady. Even though it is labeled as unisex and can also be worn by confident men: This scent reminds me too much of Libre Eau de Parfum Intense from YSL. I find it difficult when a man smells like a women's bestseller. Although there are some masculine elements present here.
Nishane and Anne Flipo? Quite an unusual combo. Anne Flipo's creations are rather mainstream, and the entire Libre line is from her. Nishane's releases have been more elegant, classic, and less mainstream. With this Tempfluo, you get a very mainstream DNA, but in a very high-quality execution. The suggested retail prices are therefore quite inflated. 100ml regularly costs over €300. However, you can get the 50ml for around €120 and the 100ml for about €170, which is relatively fair.
Since this is labeled as unisex, I pondered for a long time whether it would suit me. However, I have come to the conclusion that I prefer it on women. With saffron and cedarwood, there are some unisex notes present, but this Libre-like DNA remains, especially prominent in the first hours. The praline and jasmine also give off a slight Good Girl vibe. The spicy saffron makes it somewhat more unisex, but I have decided to leave this one for the ladies.
The best part of this fragrance, in my opinion, is the wonderful top note: sweet praline surrounded by soft, sensual flowers. Orange blossom and jasmine are clearly detectable here, and anyone who likes these notes should definitely test this fragrance. Especially if you enjoy these mainstream DNAs. Here, you also get a lovely saffron spice that doesn't overpower, like in BR540 or Oud for Greatness. The floral sweetness is at the forefront in the first half of the fragrance. In the second part, the scent relaxes and leans more towards a woody sweetness. Pleasant cashmere wood with great cedarwood, along with a not-too-sticky sweetness. Sensual, soft, and somewhat reserved compared to the top note. But overall, a fragrance that impresses and convinces me.
The performance is quite good, as expected for this type of fragrance. Longevity is in the double digits, but with good sillage in the first 3-4 hours. After that, it is still somewhat perceptible close to the skin. Sufficient and never too much.
Overall, for me, a great fragrance for women and also for confident men. Those who like the Libre DNA should definitely give this one a try.
