I Have Never Been to New York
Frank Voelkl has declared New York his chosen home. This fragrance is said to have been inspired by childhood memories of his grandfather's farm. I have not yet ventured beyond Europe, and I will travel more of our continent before I wish to make my way there. And my prejudice is that all Americans are heavily armed. Of course, that is nonsense, and I know it. But a prejudice is a prejudice.
The vastness, the gigantic buildings in cities like New York - yes, I would love to see that. I also want to know if the people from Hamburg are just as laid-back in the States as they are here.
Molecule fragrances fascinate me, the niche within a niche. Fragrances like Inception are a work of art to me. Creating a scent that smells like clean air, as if you have an ozone generator in the room. Not wearable for me, but extraordinary. I also found Escentric, which simply smells like sweet wood, rather boring. Many use it for layering/fixing their favorite scents to make them last longer on the skin or to enhance them.
psy_cou stands out, yes, you can smell the wood. To me, it smells very authentic. It seems to be intended more as a scent for meditation, I think. You sit on the wooden floor, I hear Autumn by George Winston from the speakers, someone lights Palo Santo, although the scent itself has nothing smoky for me. The spices are beautifully woven into the fragrance, nothing particularly stands out. Except perhaps coumarin, which gives the scent a lovely hay note.
Well done, Frank ;)

Well, you don't have to go rummaging through the homeowners' gun cabinets... I'd love to fly to New Orleans and then take a boat into the Bayou... by the way, all the Turkish friends I know here - and there are quite a few - say that the döner in Istanbul tastes sooo much better and is completely different from here... funny, right?

Prejudices are like many things! Sometimes they feel like shackles or heavy stones on our feet, just holding us back, but often they also protect us from hasty decisions! Let’s tackle two prejudices right away: Hamburgers are soggy everywhere, and no one needs molecular scents! I really like that your reviews have many different facets!

I don't feel that way either, and I'm with you on this-nothing really draws me in. However, that applies to molecular scents for me as well. Nothing really appeals to me...
