Animalistic Salon Newcomer
The first fragrance by Oleg Cassini that I get to know. The prerequisites are extremely promising. An American fragrance that was released in 1978? You can't really go wrong there. And I was not disappointed, though a bit surprised.
The top note practically screams: "I am a classic, spicy men's fragrance and claim a place in the salon next to Men's Club, Babor Homme, and similarly positioned colleagues from my era." Well, I willingly made room for him. Another chair, fine cigars, and port wine organized, and then let's see how "Reporter" behaves.
At first, he seemed quite uncomfortable, but with increasing alcohol consumption, he quickly thawed out, perhaps a bit too much, as at some point he started telling dirty jokes and claiming that he didn't really belong in this distinguished circle, as he was too much of a man of the people and could only endure the noble conversation with a lot of alcohol. Later, he calmed down a bit, probably got tired, until he finally fell asleep.
What had happened? Well, after the classic-spicy top note, Reporter for Men suddenly and unexpectedly became extremely animalistic in the heart. The others even said he smelled a bit like sweat. This was a bit embarrassing for him, so he then returned to his quite presentable class in the base and replaced the animalistic note with classic spice.
You see, Reporter for Men is multifaceted, yet always honest and ultimately a good guy.
It seems there is a reformulation of this fragrance, from which the photo likely originates. My OF is called "Reporter - The First" and undoubtedly represents the original version, as I was able to verify with the mini I previously had in my collection.
