When You’ve Been Shaken to Your Core…
“Dear Eau Sauvage,
You know I like you very, very much. If I had to limit myself to three fragrances, you would be alongside Green Irish Tweed and Habit Rouge. For a lifetime.
On warm and humid days, and you know all too well that we have plenty of those here in the Cologne area, especially in summer, there is nothing better and more refreshing than you. Classic yet never out of style. The years have treated you with dignity.
But now I have something else. I’m sorry. I’m really sorry. I was told it’s just as good and smells like you once did. And yes, it really is so.
Unmistakably Eau Sauvage, and yet it’s not you at all. With my eyes closed, I wouldn’t even notice a difference. Admittedly: The name doesn’t sound as nice, and its appearance leaves much to be desired.
I’m still sorry, but I think I’ll be somewhere else for a while.
Regards
Your Profumorist”
Anyone who loves Eau Sauvage should really buy Putting Green. Buy it blindly. There’s not much to describe here: It really smells the same. The longevity and sillage are at best average. The bottle is truly ugly. However, the sprayer is good.
But the pièce de résistance is of course the price: I paid €8.99 for 100ml. And I will most likely buy two to three more bottles. Just to be sure. When you’ve been shaken to your core…
