Oriflame sometimes make fragrances that are almost similar or amazingly close to famous scents. Etude is one of them. The name means ’study’ in English and I suppose Oriflame is hinting to the process of studying Poison, finding the notes and defining the ratio of them. The result is good.
The beginning is more citric than Poison. Where Poison has plum and berries, Etude has lemon or mandarin. The hearts share the tuberose and carnation, but Poison is more fruity/sweet where Etude is more rosy. The bases are both warm and woody but where the longevity of Poison is famous due to its many hours, Etude is mediocre, more like 6-7 hours - which is good, btw. Just not compared to Poison.
The bottle is simple, elegant and has a lovely green-blue stopper (unfortunately of plastic).
Etude is a good perfume. I am, however, not a fan of copies, and Etude has a bit too much of Poison’s DNA. But if Dior one day decides to stop making Poison, Etude is a great alternative.
