Resinous resins... and subtle sweet florals way underneath

Another fragrance sample from the beginning of my journey where I didn't check all of the notes and instead, where I focused on the ones I thought I'd love. Since then I've grown and I now know that notes I love may be overwhelmed by others I dislike, which is exactly what happened here.

The start is very off-putting to my nose. Strong resinous scent with a weird bitter and green note that further takes me away from enjoying this fragrance. I'm guessing juniper berries have something to do with this. Thankfully the fragrance moves on and after settling on my skin, the resinous curtain starts to reveal a soft, "perfumey" kind of sweet florals where roses are the most prevalent flowers. The fragrance has a powdery, sweet drydown due to the tonka bean, but also warmth due to the amber.

Definitely a fragrance for people who love resinous perfumes with a sweet, floral facet. I'm starting to see I'm not a resinous-kind of girl which is the main reason why it won't be making it into my collection.
