It's no secret that Ormonde Jayne's "La Route de Soie" collection is an attempt to grab a piece of the "popular niche" pie. The mere fact that there's a copy of Alexandria II called "Xandria" included in the collection is proof enough. There's nothing wrong with this tactic in itself, since everyone does it! Everyone has their own Alexandria, their own Baccarat Rouge, their own Aventus, etc. What makes Babylonia so forgettable, though, is the absence of any special attributes. The scent is pretty, even elegant, but in the end, it's just one of hundreds of "fruity-florals." Reason to buy? If anything, it's the mentioned elegance of the fragrance. But maybe I'm just imagining that because it's a niche scent. No one is safe from such influences!
