Summer in Strohgäu
The Strohgäu: Gäu = area. Grain-growing region on the side of the Glems.
THIS SUMMER!
All the sadness over good past summer scents brought nothing and certainly no insight into which summer scent it would be.
The whole range of drugstore fragrances continuously frustrated me - for weeks.
When I spoke to Mr. Wenz: "I'm getting so desperate that I almost got a hat trick." He: "Is that still around?"...
We chatted for a while about fragrances - good and bad - and I was handed one glass stick after another.
None of it was what I wanted.
"Oh, our own brand, why didn't I think of that... Let's have it made in France... We developed it 25 years ago..."
Then I had this incredibly wonderful summer scent sprayed on my forearm.
The longevity on the skin is not very long, but it works well on clothing.
The classic fragrance pyramid unfolds nicely. Zero intrusiveness.
The days in Strohgäu with 40 degrees are over, yet it is still hot. Good to have this light refreshment: lemon, lime, a little violet in the background, and some light tobacco. I don't perceive cypress. Generally nothing biting, as is the case with the Gentlemen's Collection by Aramis.
I will get through the summer well, with a light freshness.
When it fades, I will sniff at the collar of my shirt...
As a sample, I got ExpLOud with me. That will be saved for the fall. I smelled the fragrance: "That's pretty cool!"
Here's to a great summer!
... now for an ice cream: lime-basil! That's just amazing!
NOTE AFTER THE FIRST HOT WEEK:
Time passes, head and heart notes too. But a woody tobacco scent remains. I initially associate it with cold smoke. But very pleasant, almost a bit refreshed with a small splash of lemon.
Very classic; I like that.
