Bergamask Orto Parisi 2014

I had mixed expectations when I went to the Dubai Mall to smell the Orto Parisi fragrances. I was particularly interested in Megamare and Bergamask, but the reviews were and still are very divided. I prepared myself for these fragrances to be very challenging - just for niche noses. But when I smelled both (and a few others from the collection), I was pleasantly surprised! To my nose, almost all of them smell like high-quality designer fragrances. Nothing smelled disgusting, sweaty, pissy, or whatever other adjectives are used to describe fragrances.

I actually liked both Megamare and Bergamask the most, so those went home with me.

In the following months, I wore Bergamask more and more often as I liked it increasingly. But also because of the positive feedback. I get approached about no other fragrance as often. Whether on the street, in the club, or during a visit to the hairdresser.

The fragrance has endless power. 7+ hours after application, a lady approached me in the club, asking if I smell that strong, and that it smells good, but I should spray less next time - I sprayed twice.

To me, Bergamask smells very classic, citrusy, bitter, woody, and minimally animalistic. The animalistic note gives it just the right amount of "something special." And the Javanol completes the masterpiece.

I think the fragrance deserves at least an 8, but I’m also kind of happy that it’s at a 7.7. This means it won't land in the Top 100 and fewer people will wear it. Good for me :)
