The hype around this fragrance has become quite large, even though this DNA was already introduced by Profumum Roma in 1996 with Aqua di Sale, and Alessandro Gualtieri has slightly altered this well-known DNA but still executed it wonderfully.
I will try to describe the scent as it is not outlined with a fragrance pyramid, and AG does not let anyone peek at the cards :).
It starts very deep, heavy, and algal and sandy, yet it maintains a fresh character. There is a consistently bitter citrus note. After about half an hour, the algae rise again, and you get the feeling as if you are on an evening walk at the beach.
I see Megamare more as an autumn-winter fragrance since it would be way too heavy for summer. The longevity is brutal. It lasts easily 10-12 hours on my clothes. On the skin, I also estimate it very well. A successful fragrance that is worth its price; I like it and wear it gladly.
