Nuclear waste
Nuclear waste in Rick and Morty is also green. That’s what this reminds me of. I see reviews depicting forests, moss, fougères. I don’t know what green stuff they’re on but I want me some of that, not this glow-in-the-dark liquid.

I have to give it to the perfumer. He knows how to provoke and tingle the imagination. I do see the artistic value of this. But honestly I’m not in the phase (yet?) to fully appreciate artistic scents. If I don’t like it I won’t wear it hence the lower score.

Weaker version of Amouage Bracken
A pleasant green fragrance, despite it doesn't bring anything new. The fragrance opens with a synthetic grassy note, maybe there is some pepper, cedar wood (?). The unisex fragrance leans a bit on the feminine side, with moderate sillage and longevity. It reminds me on a cheaper take on of Bracken by Amouage.

Nice non-vetiver woody scent
Viride (Latin for "green"; has nothing to do with Latin "vir" for "man") opens strongly with a pleasant green scent. This eventually transmongrifies into a woody scent. It's not vetiver and not a repulsive hamster bedding scent. To me, it's more like pencil shavings, but in a good way. The other notes, especially the tobacco, fir and juniper are subtly in the background and combining with the cedar to make a very pleasant woody scent. Comes across quite masculine to me. Viride would be especially good for a guy who doesn't care for vetiver - for example, if you can't stand Terre d'Hermes but want a woody scent - Viride would fit the bill, especially since there's no hamster bedding vibe.

Performance is good - about a good 7 to 8 hours of strong scent but only moderate sillage for the first hour or two. Not a typical Orto Parisi beast mode scent. I'm rating the scent only as "Average" because I DO like vetiver and prefer TdH and TdH flankers over Viride. Like I said, if you don't like the TdH vibe, try Viride for a different woody scent.

I have a problem with Orto Parisi
As much as I like nasomatto, I have a problem with Orto Parisi. Most of their compositions are filled with chemical smells and artificial ingredients. It is no different here. Only the opening is worth noting, because when you smell it you can really feel this damp aromatic forest with conifers, moisture and moss. It meets expectations, the smell of a wet coniferous forest. However, after half an hour it starts to smell terribly artificial, a bit like candy, and from this green forest only a light accord of fir remains. The artificial drydown lasts quite long, even 10 hours. The bottle also deserves attention. A plus for the atomizer (a very satisfying click and a large amount sprayed) and attention to detail, because both the material label and the copper cap with a wooden insert are Impressive and complementing the work of art. Speaking of the cap, unfortunately, because of the copper finish, every time I touched it, a metallic smell remained on my hands, which was persistent, so I had to wash my hands every time I used viride.

Blast from the past
To start talking about Viride I have to, imperatively, compare it with a classic perfume, one of those that still hang around my father's wardrobe, which he surely bought in a 5-liter format for who knows how many pesetas, because I can't understand how he still has any product left.

Its opening is basically absinthe, somewhat alcoholic but very green. I call this the first opening, because as soon as it dries on the skin, that smell of absinthe is lost to give way to everything that will give body to this perfume, which are the notes of conifers like pine and juniper. Everything forms a mass of green, woody and earthy smells. I sincerely believe that it has vetiver, it reminds me a lot of classic Aramis.

At the end of the life, which could easily be 12 hours, of this perfume, those tones of coniferous forest continue but with an earthy smell in the background that reminds me of pipe tobacco. What I like most is that the trail lasts and lasts practically from the time it dries to the end. It's a blast from the start, but when it dries, it's what I think should be the minimum for a perfume, which is that you can smell yourself and someone who comes close, without having to put their nose to your neck, can smell it.

A formal and mature perfume, I think it will be a good signature perfume for someone who has to wear their jacket well-groomed on a daily basis. For the whole year, and for the day, yes, but without going overboard. And perfect for serious events, it gives you the presence of a focused person who is back in fashion.

In short: The classic from 40 years ago, but now.

I understand the inspiration, but this is one of the worst Orto Parisi. Fainth, simple, no curveballs.

Smells like a soulless oldschool fougère.
Fresh conifer, soapy lavender, cloves, dry woods.
Bracken Man is better executed; spicier, warmer.

A slightly bitter, yet fresh and clean spicy-green Fougère, balanced by a dusty earthy resinous-woody base. Nice evolution. Male-oriented.

Perfume doesn’t get more synthetic than this. It’s called Viride, as in: green. Yes the color is green but that’s where the greenness stops.

Green, velvety, woody, earthy, with the slightest sweetness of conifer wood drying off. More masculine, really beautiful and elegant.

Mint eucalyptus with a woody drydown....lasts a good while but doesn't bounce off the skin like the other ortos.... different but good

This is not a regular forest, but a magical one. One that smells like sweet hay and wormwood, and one definitely worth checking out!

Green, woody, earthy, with a velvety spiciness of cloves and cinnamon and a slight sweetness on the bottom.

Starts off as a strong herbal scent with a slight hint of menthol and mint, turns into a walk through a forest after a while of wearing, really unique

Very herbacious in a bitter but pleasant way, with a ton of semi-dry woodiness to boot. Quite linear, lacks projection, and smells synthetic
