Blast from the past
To start talking about Viride I have to, imperatively, compare it with a classic perfume, one of those that still hang around my father's wardrobe, which he surely bought in a 5-liter format for who knows how many pesetas, because I can't understand how he still has any product left.
Its opening is basically absinthe, somewhat alcoholic but very green. I call this the first opening, because as soon as it dries on the skin, that smell of absinthe is lost to give way to everything that will give body to this perfume, which are the notes of conifers like pine and juniper. Everything forms a mass of green, woody and earthy smells. I sincerely believe that it has vetiver, it reminds me a lot of classic Aramis.
At the end of the life, which could easily be 12 hours, of this perfume, those tones of coniferous forest continue but with an earthy smell in the background that reminds me of pipe tobacco. What I like most is that the trail lasts and lasts practically from the time it dries to the end. It's a blast from the start, but when it dries, it's what I think should be the minimum for a perfume, which is that you can smell yourself and someone who comes close, without having to put their nose to your neck, can smell it.
A formal and mature perfume, I think it will be a good signature perfume for someone who has to wear their jacket well-groomed on a daily basis. For the whole year, and for the day, yes, but without going overboard. And perfect for serious events, it gives you the presence of a focused person who is back in fashion.
In short: The classic from 40 years ago, but now.
