****** d'Oscar Oscar de la Renta 2011 Eau de Toilette

I, the flower girl, was on the lookout for a beautiful orange blossom. Somehow, I stumbled upon APOM pour femme from Maison Francis Kurkdjian. It was amazing! I was smitten with my sample, so sunny, floral, yet fresh and creamy at the same time... if only the price weren't over 100 EUR.
But what does a resourceful girl do? Right, she looks for dupes. What I found was ****** d'Oscar.

****** d'Oscar bears a striking resemblance to APOM, with the small difference that I actually like it even better.
The opening is beautifully citrusy like APOM, but the scent develops into something a bit powdery and floral through violet and heliotrope. In contrast, APOM contains more "fruit acid".
Both perfumes share their mood-lifting effect. I feel good when I wear ****** d'Oscar. Well, that's how it should be with every perfume, but Ed'O radiates for me; it is a bright scent that works wonders on drizzly, gray days with low-hanging clouds.

****** d'Oscar is not only the (much prettier) reinterpretation of an old classic ("Oscar" from the 70s), but it also contains a certain timeless component. The structure, especially the powdery aspect, reminds me of Guerlain's L'Heure Bleue, although Ed'O is a bit sweeter and overall feels more accessible.

I can highly recommend ****** d'Oscar as an everyday scent, as you don't get tired of it and overdoing it is hardly possible. It's also great as a gift for sisters, nieces, cousins, friends, etc., as I haven't met anyone who has taken issue with the scent in any way.

Aside from that, ****** d'Oscar is quite easy to find and a true bargain - what more could a flower girl want?! :)
