A very special scent for me!

I know this fragrance does not enjoy a particularly good reputation here, a circumstance I can only partially understand.

I think this situation is mainly due to the fact that this eau de toilette is not particularly high-quality and, on the other hand, comes across as very synthetic. Moreover, it is a very inexpensive drugstore scent, which further emphasizes the cheap touch.

But I would like to briefly share my story about this EDT.

I wore this scent during the first meetings with my now-girlfriend.

It was early May 2013, and she loved the scent from the very beginning. Especially when we were walking by the harbor and the wind gently carried the fragrance to her, she was smitten.

Shortly thereafter, I wore fragrances like Dior Homme Intense, Annayake Tomo, and Midnight in Paris, all of which she mentioned she loves to smell.

However, a few days ago, I decided to wear this scent again after months and surprise her on a special evening.

She recognized the scent immediately, and when I held her in my arms, emotions overflowed, and a few tears were shed. This is, of course, due to the fact that she associates this fragrance with a very special time.

But I also understand what she loves about this scent.

The opening of artemisia, bergamot, and cardamom is very spicy and masculine.

Artemisia and cardamom give the fragrance its intense aroma as well as a bitter undertone. The bergamot enhances all this with a subtle freshness that, in my opinion, prevents the scent from losing itself in that "intense aroma" described above right from the start.

Just seconds after spraying, a hint of lavender comes in, but it is only very faintly noticeable and is completely overrun by the extremely strong cinnamon.

After a few minutes, this fragrance is a real pleasure for me.

It becomes very sweet as described by others, but for me, it loses none of its masculine character.

The base notes slowly come in after a while, but they mainly allow the cinnamon to hold its place until the end.

Longevity and sillage are, of course, the big topic here and a strong point of criticism, but for me, it does not pose a particular problem.
Since fragrances seem to unfold and hold well on my skin.

For about 4-5 hours, it smells relatively intense, but then quickly fades.
The base notes mixed with cinnamon linger for a good while longer.

The sillage is satisfactory and, as mentioned above, quite usable with a gentle breeze ;)

The similarity to Le Male is clearly noticeable due to part of the top and heart notes.

However, Le Male has a character that is too boring for me and does not particularly excite me.

For me, this is a special scent that can somehow captivate me despite the clearly higher-quality fragrances in my collection.

I would be happy to one day hold a similarly scented, high-quality perfume in my hands.

I recommend it for purchase.

At this price, I recommend everyone to give it a short test.

I apologize that a short story turned into a novel, but everyone enjoys a story with a happy ending ;)

Similar for me, in terms of the story. For me, it's the scent HIS Brazil (World Cup 2006). It was available at Schlecker back then. When it was taken off the market, I really missed it. In 2013, I got Otto Kern Signature for my birthday. Bam, flashback. I love this scent.

What I want to say is that I forgot to mention that this is probably the same scent under a different name. It would fit with the timing.

Great comment: It was my first club scent, and I have quite a few memories associated with it :)

The OTTO KERN fragrances are actually better than their price would suggest! I like your comment.

I also think some drugstore scents are great, and I don't write scientific comments either, but rather stories that I associate with the fragrance!

Oh come on, I love comments that tell a story instead of just dissecting the scent scientifically. I also keep finding beautiful fragrances at the drugstore. They don't have to be expensive designer scents, which rarely appeal to me and Mr. Maus anyway.

Quick update at 10:47 PM: It's been about 1.5 hours since I applied the fragrance, and now it's at its most beautiful point. The scent still smells distinct and as I initially described, but now it's noticeably softer and warmer as the strong character of the cinnamon fades more and more.

Without the slight synthetic note, it would be a top score.
