Is the Bärenmarke Bear Prowling Around the Corner?
Ah, what do we have here that's delicious for autumn and winter! Admittedly: It has a bit of a drugstore scent vibe. But perhaps we should be lenient here. Because unlike many of its drugstore counterparts, it doesn't become flatter over time, but rather nicer.
The top note is cheap fragrance in its purest form. You just have to get through it. A lot of synthetics, as plastic-like as the packaging. The artificial freshness and a hint of pepper mix with what later becomes more pronounced, resulting in a sweet, sticky fruitiness, as has been smelled so often before.
But then the Bärenmarke bear comes charging in with a little jug of sweet, warm alpine milk, leaving one awestruck. Everything becomes plush, milky, nice, and warm. Like sweet warm milk by the fireplace. Fortunately, without any hint of tonka or vanilla: there are already enough pudding scents out there!
The twist: The warm milk by the fireplace is not unsensual! Ylang-Ylang has its own character and prevents it from becoming too harmlessly milky-bearish. The combination results in something like milk + meringue + fig. Sweet-toothed folks should pay attention here: this has serious calories and intense sweetness.
The base is solid as well. The woods present themselves as exceptionally soft, warm, and harmonizing. Creamy like a strudel dessert with soft woods and a dollop of cream.
Conclusion: A nice cuddly companion for autumn and winter with plenty of gourmand power.
P.S. I still only give it 60% because I find the scent interesting but personally a bit too sweet. Also, a certain indescribable disharmony bothers me. But don't let that stop you from testing this candidate. It has something!
