Dubai Chocolate without Chocolate

The Dubai chocolate hype is slowly spilling over into the perfume industry.
"Pistachio Kunafa Dubai Chocolate | Oudh Al Anfar" is now the second fragrance in this direction that I've been able to test recently.
But does the Anfar really smell like Dubai chocolate?
The scent definitely does not authentically smell like the hyped chocolate.
With a bit of imagination, you can detect some similarities in the air, but the most important element, the "chocolate," is missing.
Although it is listed here, you can't actually smell it.

What I perceive is clearly the nutty note right from the opening.
In my perception, they are lightly roasted nuts.
Caramel adds sweetness to the fragrance, but I find that the caramel is not authentically done; with a lot of imagination, I still perceive it.

In the dry down, the pistachios that are already listed in the opening become more noticeable.
The scent is sweet, but not overly sweet.
I smell something that resembles fresh milk, but I don't know what it is.
I therefore find the scent slightly lactonic.

It remains nutty, sweet but not too sweet, minimally caramel-like, and subtly lactonic.
I wait in vain for the chocolate until the end.
It's a pity, really, because with "Dubai Chocolate," one expects a scent with chocolate.
In the end, it becomes less sweet and a bit powdery; individual notes are hard to recognize at this stage, if not impossible.

Sillage is rather moderate; I feel the fragrance lives more from its sillage than from its projection.
So the performance is not bad, but also not good.

Unisex? Too feminine? I would say unisex with a tendency towards the feminine (W60%/40%M).

My conclusion: I probably won't be acquiring a bottle; unfortunately, the theme was missed here.
I thank my favorite perfumer Peppermint for providing me with the fragrance to test.
This way, I could sniff without having to spend money.
It鈥檚 really not bad, but somehow I feel like something is missing that would make me say, wow, I just have to have this.
However, the scent is definitely unique; for me, it's not a dupe; I've never smelled anything similar.

I agree with this. I'm gonna try to buy one of those Tubbees chocolate fudge to pair with this to try to save it lol

Thank you! Without you, I probably wouldn't have been able to test it so quickly. 馃槂 I can't even smell the chocolate after several hours, which is really too bad. 馃様

So it's probably the reduced-sugar version... Doesn't sound very convincing.

Unfortunately, it's not really convincing, but it's not bad either. Somehow, it lacks something that makes the scent special.
