Dolce Passione Pantheon 2016

Thanks to dear Dolly, I got to enjoy the wonderful Dolce Passione through a swap. At first, DP sat unnoticed and dreary among many other small decants. Thank goodness not for too long. Usually, I test in two ways. Once on my arm, where I was practically enveloped by the hazelnut and chocolatey (dark chocolate) scent cloud. Phew, I had to take a deep breath, as this was definitely not "Dolce." It was this dark and deeper fragrance that I personally find quite wonderful and reminds me in a similar way of Cartier's Les Heures fragrance "L'Heure Defendue." However, in DP, this phase is somewhat longer present. That's a matter of taste.

After a while, the scent development shifts towards "fruity," without ever becoming excessively sweet, which I really struggle with. I like sweet fragrances, but only within a controlled framework. The strawberry/plum combination does not bring forth extreme sweetness, even though one would expect this from the strawberries. As it progresses, honey and musk join in, which I can hardly perceive. Tonka bean, vanilla, and the truffle do their job and are also responsible for the longevity settling at about 9 hours. Beyond that, it is still realizable up close. The sillage is also quite expressive!

After testing on my arm, it was time for the everyday test, where I was already concerned that headaches could deliver a knockout blow to this wonderful scent. Far from it. In normal application mode (on the neck), it comes across even more beautifully and deepens my "must have" desire.

Conclusion: a truly delightful summer fragrance that is not just for sweet tooth lovers. Quite the opposite! For me, DP has made it onto the wish list, where it now stands alone. Hopefully not for too long....
