@Gourmandgrl as much as I hate to admit it, this one actually suffers from the lack of benzoin, or a sweeter resin. Immortelle isn't enough because together with saffron it just smells medicinal to me, which is whatever.
Haha not in the slightest @Gourmandgrl in fact, it doesnât even hold up to Falcon Leather Extrait, which is as pedestrian as it gets, Iâm sure @TheDunkPapa can attest to that.
My main gripe with Anubis is that the âsmokinessâ doesnât smell industrial, but rather like toasted bread. So itâs more of a gourmand, think toast with saffron⌠đ¤Ł
@TheDunkPapa I should have known better after hearing Danielâs praise for Lizzie, haha! đ¤Ł
But tbf, as a perfumer youâre always facing this dilemma - do I lean into the aspects that make leather appealing to leather junkies, or make it wearable so it actually sells?
Of course the latter always emerges victorious, resulting in a meditative banger like Anubis.
