"Vampyre's Romance" is quite a simple, aggressive, heavy patchouli bomb that fits well with its Nosferatu theme and takes no prisoners.
A Lost Boy with a guilty conscience. Fright Night takes on a rather sensual twist here. Between impending darkness and Bram Stoker, between opium den and blood puddle, between family crypt and romanticized diaries. Longing meets sex. A nightshade plant from hippies to goths, from glitter to bat people. Addiction and migraine are here, for my head, my nose, very elaborately flirting. Let the right one in. Or the wrong one - but then you'll need enough crosses, garlic, and krautrock. A juicy cherry on the cake made from the flesh of virgins.
Bottle: black and simplest
Sillage: fills every crypt
Longevity: until sunrise - 12 hours
Conclusion: "Vampyre's Romance" is just as much Edward as Kinski, maybe even more, but fundamentally it is a damn groovy and gothic patchouli bomb that can take your breath away with a biting and slightly erotic touch.
Question: How many vampire movies + books can you reference in your review?
Leimbacher: Yes.
The presentation is indeed as cheesy and cheap as in Devil's Kitchen, but for me, Patchekind definitely sounds worth a try.
