Very dark, spicy... GOOD!

By now, I have "already" written almost 10 comments here about fragrances that I have taken a closer look at; my collection officially contains 3 fragrances...
I just got quite a shock when I walked past my shelf and saw my patchouli - which belongs there, just like the Bible does in someone else's nightstand or the dictionary on a desk.

This is not really a perfume in the conventional sense; many oils for the fragrance lamp are more complex.

Vampryre's Romance actually contains only natural patchouli oil - okay, and a bit of opium. Although I had been convinced for years that it was incense, which I could never quite smell. Now I know why.
When I bought it, I must have confused the perfume by name; I actually wanted the one with incense.
Now I'm a bit confused, as I can't separate the opium scent from the patchouli experience.
I must say that I know this scent in all its variations.

This patchouli here is of high quality, natural, correspondingly powerful, long-lasting, heavy, earthy - and that's why it's incredibly beautiful to me.
Perhaps it's thanks to the opium that this patchouli reminds me more of a warm clay pot with spicy, dry earth than a musty cemetery?

Anyone who knows patchouli only from commercial mixtures should brace themselves: This one is in a whole different league.
Although I love the scent, I "had to" stretch it (ratio of 6 Eth. to 1 perfume, if I remember correctly). With just one spray of this mixture, everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, notices that I am wearing patchouli.

To conclude, here’s a sentence that could have also been at the beginning:
So, now I am 23, and one cannot deny that this is THE perfume of my youth... :D
Well, that's not entirely true; I only wore it regularly for a while, and there's still plenty left! ;)
(To give you an idea: My mixture (150ml) is just over half used, the original bottle is still about two-thirds full!)

It’s not necessarily an everyday scent, that’s clear, but what it is, it is in perfection, and on top of that, it’s cruelty-free, 100% natural, and absolutely affordable. I would give it full marks even without a "shared past"! :)
