I’ve found out-surprise, who would have thought?-that in recent years, I actually only like orange in classic colognes; otherwise, it often gets tricky, especially in the "tonka vanilla" combo (nice compound).
*Basically a beautiful scent DNA, but they should have used less Bourbon vanilla, tonka, and resin. At least the fragrance delivers what the name promises. It starts off enticingly with the balsamic saffron-orange like in Widian Gold 2. The heart notes of smoky styrax resin and warm, wintry cinnamon spice are the best part of the fragrance and give it character. The oud-woody base provides some support so it doesn't get too sweet. But the vanilla-tonka and resin sneak through. What a shame. It could have been something special.*
