Between resinous firs
glows darker,
fruit-infused incense
Between restraint
& opulence
a radiant aldehyde moon rises.

Finally, a frankincense-wood scent that doesn't lean towards sauna or barbecue :-) A touch of Lutens would definitely appeal to me...

You found such beautiful words! ✨ For me, it had more of a Snow White effect: as soon as the apple came into play, I played dead. The prince is still taking his time…

I think finding apple in the scent is a completely rational reaction 🤓
I was more gifted with a special plum-quince variety, which I quite like.

Very much so, but not apple-like in my nose. Quite intriguing and pleasantly strange.

I don't know it yet, unfortunately, but I can somehow imagine the scent. At least its effect seems split between repulsive and attractive, but you still have to give it a sniff. Cortichiatto seems to like creating a bit of controversy with their fragrances - I've had some great experiences with them. I'm fond of the brand.

I like Corticchiato's stuff too. It's not always my style, but usually worth a try. Right now, I'm struggling with Aziyadé 😅

I had to try it three times this time. There are some special "oddities" that I keep testing until I either figure them out or find them completely awful. 😅

A timid coward hesitates nonetheless. I would prefer quince over apple. But sooo much incense. On the other hand, opoponax 🤔. I often love that.

A lot has flown by my ears too; he doesn't hold back on the incense of any kind. 😅 Maybe it wasn't the smartest idea to smell it for the first time at 36 degrees in the shade. But now it somehow clicked.

Some of it is a bit overripe; instead of apple, I got more of a plum-quince vibe. Definitely better than it sounds, Corticchiato knows what it's doing.

You let yourself be easily intimidated. But probably only by perfumes :-) I found the combination of freshness and chocolate intriguing at first, but overall the scent felt more velvety and subtle, while still being varied. I liked it a lot; Corticchiato often hits the right notes for me.

Moi = selective coward ;)
On paper, the somewhat sour, somewhat overripe fruit completely overwhelmed me, but on the skin, it comes together in a very intriguing way. I didn’t get the chocolate association, but I definitely agree that it’s velvety and varied. We share a fondness for Corticchiato.

It took me a while to get used to it. Hesitantly, after sniffing the test strip, I took a weeks-long break before trying it on my skin. What scared me on paper still feels strangely foreign on my skin, but in a beautiful way. A dark, multi-layered incense that carries a lot of smoky, almost fermented fruit along with it; on my skin, it’s more of a plummy quince than an apple. The fir trees provide plenty of resin, which would make for a heavy, dense scent, if it weren't for the bright aldehydes that thankfully keep it from becoming too weighty. Others have noted that this could also be a Lutens. I see the resemblance, but this one is more restrained in terms of sweetness and stays drier than its relatives, which really works for me. It’s not a cool church vibe, but rather an archaic incense ritual. Not overwhelming, but subtly lush and distinctive.
