Delina Parfums de Marly 2017 Eau de Parfum
2
It's fine, but entirely unremarkable.
Personal: 6/10 - I don't love rose, I don't love rhubarb, but this is... tolerable.
Mass appeal: 8/10 - Fruity florals are always popular. Rhubarb may lose some people, but it's pretty safe.
Performance: 8/10 - Solid performance for a floral. It sticks around longer than I'd like though.
Value: 5/10 - Expensive at niche pricing, but it smells like really high end designer. Not worth its price tag.
Uniqueness: 6/10 - It's famous but not groundbreaking. Delina is a smoother take on the tart fruit, rose DNA.
SCORE: 66/100
Full bottle buy? NO, not for me. It's wearable, but I'd never reach for it.
Blind buy? NO, rhubarb and rose are a bit too polarizing to buy blind.
Recommend? YES, if you want a high class tart fruity floral that feels designer.
Date night? YES, feminine, pleasant, and romantic in a polished and bright way.
Office safe? YES, but don't overspray it. It gets cloying quick.
Pros: Polished, fruity, girly, fun, and smooth. Fairly approachable for niche.
Cons: Overpriced, overhyped, and not unique. Rose forward, so not for everyone.
Delina is the wealthy woman's go-to. It's expensive compared to some cheaper but similar designer fragrances, and the wearer doesn't care. She walked into Saks, smelled it, and bought it without asking the price. It smells like white dresses and white Audis in the summertime. It's rose forward, but fruity and fresh enough to make it approachable.
It's just a high-end designer (but niche) rose. Good, but not great.
*Review #53 in my fragrance journey - this fragrance I own as a decant*
