The scent is described by many here as very subtle and nuanced. It actually reminds me of my childhood days when I was in the shoe store with my father or mother. Not a Deichmann or Foot Locker, but a classic cobbler where more or less exclusively leather shoes, and possibly some handbags, are on the shelf. The leather, paired with a slight sweetness from adhesives, is how Godolphin smells to me. I find the scent great, but I will probably wear it only rarely, as I still don't quite grasp its relevance - the question is when and why I would want to smell like this.
The bottle and spray head are typically excellent for PDM, the perfume itself is noticeably oily, indicating it seems to be quite concentrated. The sillage cannot compete with monsters like Layton, but for this type of scent, that’s probably a good thing; I think it should surround you more subtly rather than being intrusive.
