First fresh, then heavy...

Well, I was able to test a sample extensively and still don't know if I should treat myself to the fragrance.
When I first applied it after showering, I barely noticed it because it seemed to fully integrate into the freshness after showering.
On the second use, I applied a bit more and was very taken with the freshness. It simply smells like freshly showered and clean. No wonder it doesn't stand out particularly after extensive body care at first. I really like this freshness on me.
Now, here comes the big but! This fresh scent lasts a maximum of 4 hours on me and then transforms into a heavy sweet powderiness that leaves nothing of the summery fresh lightness. That's a real shame, as I really like the fragrance for the first three to 4 hours. However, I absolutely do not like the dry down.
It's like a drug where the peak is followed by a total low. I've tried it again every day just like that. In the morning, I definitely want to spray the fragrance on and then I tell myself that I will definitely buy it, but by the afternoon, I'm completely averse to it.
What should I do? Are there better alternatives?

Thanks for your replies. :-)
I tried Percival first, and the "unpleasant part" comes out even stronger for me.
So I’ll test the others as well. :-)

You could also try the Mefisto Gentiluomo. The price/performance ratio is really great, and it goes in a similar direction as the Sedley.

You could try the Leedys by Dua. It's a Sedley clone. I haven't tested it yet, but I've tried other Duas. I've had very good experiences with them in terms of quality and longevity. And now it gets interesting for you: with many Duas, the top note lasts until the end. If that's the case with the Leedys as well, it would be exactly what you're looking for.

Maybe try Percival by PDM.
It actually keeps the freshness throughout.
I found it much better than Sedley.
