Best of the Worst of the Top 50

For context: There isn't a single fragrance in the top 50 "men's" list on this site that I can even tolerate, let alone enjoy. I dislike them all, except this one.

On first spray I get an opening that reminds me of the medicinal herbals of Brecourt's Mauvais Garcon with the same fresh aromatic opening and underlying depth of spice, amber, and vanilla. On the one hand cozy, on the other hand clinical. This provides a composition that allows you to experience both warmth and cleanliness at once. The contrasting nature of the layers only appears when sprayed for me, and it opens into this clearly intended juxtaposition of the two.

This is the kind of fragrance where I don't mind a few powdery notes, a note I usually dislike because it smells like baby wipes or powder to me personally - but when it's in a composition like this it becomes a binding agent bringing together the herbal and sugary notes of a fragrance. I don't think it's especially unique and it has the same profile as a lot of others, it's a safe scent that doesn't stand out. It's acceptable, nice even, and though not interesting to me I don't dislike it - which is saying something for one of the top 50 in men's perfumes.
