Clear, fresh grapefruit and mandarin. What some perceive here at the beginning as "piercing" seems to me rather simply lively herb-green, certainly not a bad start on hot days.
For just under 40 euros/100 ml, there is definitely a solid English summer scent that shows some shortcomings in its balance. In the middle, the slightly bitter citrus/mandarin mix unfortunately tips into a very standardized shower gel smoothness, which is still acceptable compared to many mainstream options.
Jacko mentioned something about "guest bathroom freshener" below, and "Active" certainly serves that purpose well (meant unironically), although it should also perform its duty on very hot days on male bodies. However, "duty" is indeed meant literally, as Pecksniff's does not offer any surprises in the end.
Nonetheless (Larry David sends his regards! :-)), I would much prefer to perceive this scent on my fellow humans in the city center rather than the wretched mass "Sauvage"....
