Edges and corners are welcome, but thorns are unnecessary.
I have nothing against a fragrance being unruly and not immediately embracing me with open arms. That is certainly not the reason for the point deductions. But Anjin is a scent that doesn't know what it wants.
The top note is still acceptable to me. Green, citrusy, and rather bitter, that's not bad. But then it gets a bit confusing. The violet gets drowned out, as the coriander now shouts at me. I usually have nothing against it, but here it dominates without fitting in at this point. Moreover, it hides behind a strangely smoky note, and I'm not sure if it's incense or patchouli. In any case, it causes an uncomfortable scratch in my throat.
Only when this prickly harshness subsides does Anjin become almost beautiful. I quite like the base, as it finally becomes harmonious, and even the lingering note of coriander combined with ginger and vanilla becomes pleasantly spicy and soft, and now I'm sure that patchouli is also part of it. Here, it adapts to the mood of the perfume. I would like the scent on a man. However, it is of course pointless to wear a perfume where you have to wait for the chaos of the top and heart notes to settle. The longevity of this fine base is also satisfactory, but it just didn't reach more than 60%.
