Steamy Honey and Lavender
I went through a fougere kick a while back, after coming to the realization that the original Le Male and Luna Rossa Sport are sometimes considered fougeres. I didn't know that they were a special kind of ORIENTAL fougere which adds sweetness generally. So, I got some frags like Invasion Barbare and Beau de Jour. I enjoy those both quite a bit due to the masterful blending and fantastic performance. This scent follows in the same strain as those being a more traditional, yet modern, fougere.
It is impeccably smooth and mixed well like the others. I had thought that this scent was discontinued after seeing that it's rather hard to come by these days. Until I noticed Olfactory Factory had brand new bottles for like $135 which is pretty great for 100ml of a niche blend. Upon first wearing, I was disappointed by how quiet it was. I could hardly smell it. What I could smell was good though. I set it aside for a while to "mature" a bit. I sprayed it on today as it is going to be hot again, and I am pleasantly surprised. Not only is it stronger, but it's way easier to analyze the scent and it's just lovely. I get moderate lavender and honey, with steam on the side at first and it warms up with time. It is definitely on the sweeter side for a fougere, but not as sweet as the first two frags I mentioned. It's a less creamy sweetness and more fresh. I really like it and am super glad I grabbed a bottle while I could. The ginger, aldehydes, and beeswax are also noticeable upon dry-down. Justy a great all-around scent. The performance is decent as well. Lasts a good bit and is noticeable when I move around and get wafts of it.
