or... neither half nor whole. I would like to compare this fragrance with two others, Grey Vetiver and Sel de Vetiver. Grey Vetiver and Black Vetiver share something. They both have distinct citrus notes that accompany the entire scent journey. This is good for all vetiver allergy sufferers, as the vetiver remains soft and never becomes too harsh. However, this also has the significant disadvantage that any kick is lost. Long-lasting citrus notes often lack naturalness, freshness, and that certain pep. They come across rather dull and lackluster. Unfortunately, this is also the case here. The vetiver is very nice, but in my opinion, it is portrayed as less beautiful due to the somewhat unnatural citrus components than it could have been. With Sel de Vetiver, you also have a wonderful, dark, and crisp vetiver that is never too sharp. The citrus notes are wonderfully juicy, fresh, delicious, and natural. However, they also fade after a while, and the vetiver becomes even more of the main character. Everything is then rounded off only by this slightly salty note and the mild remnants of the fresh citrus notes, but not distorted. Well, perhaps such wonderfulness was not intended at all. Black Vetiver is calmer and more dignified, and also more masculine than Sel de Vetiver. But unfortunately, it is also significantly less beautiful, in my opinion.
