Le Grand Tour Pierre Bourdon 2015

Melon on a City Tour
"Le Grand Tour" by master perfumer Pierre Bourdon is, despite its clear resemblance, absolutely not a copy of his own bestseller, "Green Irish Tweet." Much more, this fruity-warm signature scent is a bright, easy-going, and friendly travel companion - if one can handle watery melons and green-dull figs... which unfortunately is not the case for me!
This "grand round" is a luxurious holiday fragrance that I respect and appreciate, but do not (like to) wear. Sounds strange, but that's how it is. Cloyingly sweaty fig juice meets Mediterranean sun, unripe little fruits kiss minimal tea breezes, all underlined by balsamic patchouli. Not my thing. Nice. Beautiful. High quality. But not at all my style. And it's not just because of the exhausting, sweltering heat at the moment, which is generally less suitable for fragrance testing. But here I am sure: we will (unfortunately) not become friends anymore...
Bottle: golden, successful, simple
Sillage: defensive, a fruity-creamy veil
Longevity: despite the disgusting sweaty weather, 6 hours - with normal temperatures, there’s even more to be had!
Conclusion: Fig and melon... Phew. Two fruits that I have always struggled with. It’s no different here, in this fruity-warmer GIT cousin. Nevertheless, Bourdon manages to extract a lot despite my personal aversion... that too is masterful. Just not to my taste.

I respect that you can positively evaluate a scent that doesn’t appeal to you personally from a technical perspective. Enjoyed reading it!
