"None of the flowers breathes balm"
Thanks to Cilly, I have been given fragrance samples that no one has commented on yet. Since I have made a personal commitment regarding unreviewed scents that come onto my skin and under my nose, I will also comment on this fragrance.
"Bianco di Bulgaria" by Pineider, I have never encountered any fragrances from Pineider before, not even here on Parfümo. There are actually several fragrances from the label listed here.
No one here owns this fragrance, anyway.
"Bianco di Bulgaria" does not deserve that.
It is a scent that I particularly enjoy. And it is not like in the aria by Vlotho from the opera; "Martha"
"Last rose, how lonely you bloom here
your friendly sisters have long since gone"
but it continues:
"None of the flowers breathes balm
with refreshing scent....."
Because exactly that cannot happen in "Bianco di Bulgaria," as there are no flowers, especially no Bulgarian roses.
This fragrance could be called circular scent, because in the end it smells just like it did at the beginning:
The fragrance starts citrusy, but as the pleasantly bitter angelica and star anise join in, I cannot tell if it is actually a lemon scent. If mint is included, it is so skillfully blended that I do not perceive it individually.
Because the fragrance immediately transitions into an aromatic resin scent with this mixture of angelica and star anise (please only think of the specific scent of roasted almonds and good plum puree when it comes to star anise), with a somehow rich creaminess that I would attribute to mastic, the scent of pistachio tree bark, also because a light and bright green scent is present at the same time.
Thus, "Bianco di Bulgaria" smells quite long and very pleasant.
Then the fine rosewood, that is, rosewood begins to unfold its scent, and gradually "Bianco di Bulgaria" becomes woodier, the bitterness of cedarwood comes to the fore. I also perceive a moderate patchouli. I already expect that the fragrance will gradually say goodbye.
But exactly that does not happen. The strict woods and the patchouli recede again, and the mild creamy and almost gourmand heart note, mixed with the herbal angelica and star anise, re-emerges, and the citrus scent is present again in intervals.
Thus, "Bianco di Bulgaria" remains fragrant on my skin and around me for a very long time. Everywhere I have moved in the rooms, this fragrance mixture comes back to me.
The sillage is therefore very strong, at least for me, and the longevity is considerable. A unisex fragrance. However, I have already smelled several of them, "Bianco di Bulgaria" reminds me of "Soulle Ámbar" by Floris.
