Challenge in Advent: On the Way to "My" Vanilla Scent - December 3, 2019
Coco Vanille is a beautiful fragrance, that must be said right away. Just today - dreary, indecisive weather, too cold to feel comfortable outside, dull, unremarkable - one can't help but dream of summer vacation. A few spritzes of Coco Vanille and you feel as if you are under palm trees, or at least by a pool, with wonderfully bright light above you and sun-warmed, delicately scented skin in a bikini.
So much for that: Coco Vanille is a summer scent, and in that respect, it is not the vanilla scent I am looking for: a sweet winter gourmand. But as a summer fragrance, I find it quite lovely. Right from the start, a strong coconut note dominates, while the fruity aromas are hardly noticeable. The coconut note is relatively artificial and reminds me a lot of Coco Extrème by CSP or Coconut by The Bodyshop. I don't really like this artificial coconut. In contrast to the other two, which I both own, Coco Vanille quickly develops into a delicious, vanilla direction, and suddenly the fruits appear as well. The scent is at its best after about 15 minutes: just a bit of coconut left, but nestled in a fine, sweet vanilla, accented with fruity splashes, and a bit of fruit tea also pushes its way in here. But it's lovely, honestly. The vanilla is quite tasty, not TOO sweet, but just right. Now the scent is very rounded, soft, but also zesty due to the tropical fruits, making it anything but boring.
The sillage is moderate, so you can wear the scent without hesitation in public. The longevity is about 5 hours, after which only a hint can be perceived in direct skin contact. But: The price is really right here; the little bottle costs just €31 for 30 ml of Extrait de Parfum. However - I wouldn't call it an Extrait, it is quite light.
Of the three mentioned coconut summer scents, I like this one the best by far because it has those exciting little fruity splashes. Since I already have the other two, I probably won't purchase it for now.
It was a lot of fun to test it and dream of the sun! Tomorrow I will be at La Maison de la Vanille: Vanahé
