Not my kind of honey
This is a dupe for JPG Scandal, a fragrance I am not very fond of despite my love for sweet gourmands. But in my experience, cheaper dupes can sometimes be like toned-down, less controversial versions of fragrances , so I was still curious to try this.
Unfortunately, it's just as bad for me as Scandal, if not worse. If you don't know the original yet, it's a very sweet white floral gourmand with oodles of honey as a main note. Honey can be a problematic note to me - when it hits, it really hits, and when it misses, it misses awfully. In this case, it misses because it has a very sticky-sweet texture and an unpleasant bodily warmth. Completely honest, without any sugarcoating: It has a slightly urinuous undertone, especially in the beginning. If you never thought that about honey, you will likely not get it here, either, but if you know what I mean, this might not be the scent for you.
The funny thing is that I didn't even think that about Scandal when I sampled it (years ago), that one I just found cloyingly sweet.
Besides the overdose of weirdly animalic honey, I can also see some beauty in the fragrance. The floral notes are nice and clean without being scratchy. I can't say that iris and almond play a huge role here, but they round out the scent nicely, so it gets smoother in the drydown.
Recommended only to fans of Scandal and people who really love all kinds of sweet honey. Those who like it will at least get a lot of bang for their buck here, as it's quite an intense fragrance.
