For years overlooked and then, as part of a sharing (since it was outrageously cheap), I acquired a decant. And lo and behold: it clicked! This fragrance is characterized by a synthetic carefreeness, which I - rarely does this happen - find not the least bit disturbing. A sweet base note is dominant here, yet it never runs the risk of becoming heavy.
Notable is certainly the house's own Prada powder note; I dare to describe the overall impression as a crystalline veil, which is kept fine, subtle, and elegant. Skillfully woven into this are hints of vanilla and mandarin. I also perceive floral notes, a graceful, milky-rosy soap joins into a large, delicate whole. Everything about this fragrance is incredibly discreet, and this also applies to the amber. Rather sensed than smelled, it gives the composition a slightly golden hue.
If one pays very close attention, in the last third one will also notice a hint of spiciness, a touch of licorice and sweet wood tickles the nose, although everything plays out again in the molecular realm.
Well then, this is the 32nd comment on Prada Amber Homme on Parfumo, the product has been on the market for nine years and is probably known to most. From this perspective, there would certainly be more worthy candidates to be reviewed. And yet, I did not want to miss the opportunity to briefly share my impressions. After all, it is a unique, stylish fragrance that reflects so much more of what one associates with Prada than this dreadful “Luna Rossa” series ever could.
