The charm of simplicity
After the holidays, the urge for less sometimes overwhelms me. For some time a trace too luxuriantly lived, perhaps nevertheless a little too often a good bottle of wine emptied, the one or other wonderful homemade Christmas cookie not resisted, although one was already full of paper. Somehow I feel saturated and a little decadent.
Then came the big refill bottle of "Les Belles Lavandes-Lavande Naturelle", which I took home just right after Christmas. I have filled a pocket bottle with it and when I go to bed I spray my bed and the curtains with it wastefully. The wonderfully fresh and clean lavender scent then gently accompanies me to sleep.
If I am to describe what makes the Menton Lavender so special for me, then I have to answer: It becomes special through what it doesn't have right now: No citrus fruits that make lavender fresher, no woods that would give it a little dryness, no musk that might give it a longer shelf life, no amber, no vanilla that would complement lavender.
It's actually just the delicate scent of lavender. Lavender can also bring with it a certain sharpness or herbaceousness, which is absolutely not the case here. This lavender embodies the clear, gentle blue of a summer morning, which awaits the hot day in a dreamy way. Still in the air lies the coolness and freshness of the night, the clean smell of an unspent day.
