The Magic of Simplicity
After the holidays, I sometimes feel the urge for less. Having lived a bit too lavishly for a while, perhaps emptied a good bottle of wine a bit too often, and not being able to resist one or two wonderful homemade Christmas cookies, even though I was already stuffed. Somehow, I then feel overindulged and a little decadent.
That's when the large refill bottle of "Les Belles Lavandes-Lavande Naturelle," which I brought home after Christmas, came just in time. I filled a travel spray with it and, before going to bed, I lavishly spray my bed and the curtains with it. The wonderfully fresh-clean lavender scent then gently accompanies me to sleep.
If I have to describe what makes the Menton lavender so special for me, I must answer: It is special because of what it does not have: No citrus fruits that would make the lavender fresher, no woods that would give it a bit of dryness, no musk that might provide more longevity, no amber, no vanilla that would complement the lavender.
It is truly just the delicate scent of lavender. Lavender can indeed bring a certain sharpness or herbaceousness, but that is absolutely not the case here. This lavender embodies the clear, gentle blue of a summer morning, dreamily awaiting the hot day. The coolness and freshness of the night still linger in the air, the clean scent of an unspoiled day.
