Ah, it's been a long time since I had a L’Erbolario fragrance in my nose. Or is it under my nose? Oh, you know what I mean :D
I find L’Erbolario quite good, as I have already discovered some nice fragrances here, so I enjoy testing these scents.
Right now, I am sitting in front of a new fragrance that somehow seems to fit well with the current, colder season. Well, we will find out soon… well, I will find out, you just have to read :DD
The scent:
Honestly, I didn’t really notice much from the top notes. The fragrance starts immediately with a strong incense scent (probably mixed with myrrh, it's a bit hard to distinguish these similar notes here…), blended with soft and warm vanilla.
The sage can only be detected a bit in the background afterwards, giving the scent a slight, herbal note.
The softness of the fragrance comes not only from the vanilla but also from the cashmere wood, which integrates well into the other notes. Musk adds a slight (dark) sweetness while the amber is less noticeable.
There isn’t much development in the scent, as it mainly smells of the smoky notes with soft vanilla and a bit of cashmere wood and musk throughout. However, the sage also continues to play a role in the base, but of course, it eventually fades (and the vanilla etc. become quite weak), so that the fragrance then mostly smells of incense/myrrh.
The sillage and longevity:
The projection of the fragrance is, despite the incense, rather lower than expected (at least I am used to most incense fragrances being stronger). As always, it applies here that it will only be noticeable from close up, so you really have to get close.
The longevity, however, is quite good at about eight hours and even a bit more.
The bottle:
The bottle is rectangular, transparent (but slightly tinted) and not particularly spectacular, but still okay. The name of the fragrance is printed large on the front (on the bottle). The spray head and the cylindrical cap are bronze-colored. Okay, but there are prettier options from L’Erbolario.
Myrrhae is a fragrance that, while it smells nice, really doesn’t have much to offer otherwise. It mainly smells, as described, of incense or myrrh and sage, but all of this is a bit weak.
Even for fans of incense, this fragrance isn’t really worth it, as there is now a large selection of similar scents that simply have more to offer or are stronger. However, if someone is looking for a very subtle, smoky fragrance just for relaxation, they can’t go wrong here if they want to spray it on occasionally for themselves.
As I said, it’s worth a test, but there are better fragrances with incense, myrrh, etc…
