Too many cookies don't cause poisoning...

...but at most a bit of silliness. ;-)

Since Hypnotic Poison EdT is one of my favorite fragrances and also my signature scent, I was naturally curious about Cookie Cat, as it was supposed to bear a strong resemblance to the red poison.
So, I quickly sniffed the spray head in the drugstore, confirmed my impression, and promptly took it with me. Since I had some Payback points to redeem anyway, the scent cost me almost nothing *g*.

However, after using it a few times, I must say that I would rather call it a half copy.
The first 10 minutes smell quite similar to HP. I smell almonds (or something marzipan-like), a bit of jasmine, and sandalwood. However, it all feels quite "thin" and airy, more like someone had mixed sugar water with a bit of bitter almond aroma and added a few jasmine leaves.
It simply lacks the rather heavy and full sweetness and especially the depth that HP has on me.

After the HP-like top notes fade after about 10 minutes, the scent becomes quite similar to Vanilla Noire by Yves Rocher on my skin, although this one also has more depth and feels fuller. Cookie Cat merely becomes a bit darker and woodier and develops a sadly rather artificial, almost burnt note, which also has a somewhat rubbery or gasoline-like quality to it.
I must say that, for example, HP (thankfully!) does not show the often-mentioned rubber note on me.

I unfortunately do not detect pear, licorice, or even salted butter here... I would have been very interested in the salted butter note.
No, just vanilla, almonds (although not listed), and a bit of sandalwood. There is no trace of caramel to be found.

After about 6-7 hours, Cookie Cat then fades out with a vanilla-sandalwood scent.
The sillage is moderate; with 3 sprays, you only leave a subtle hint of fragrance behind.

Conclusion: For me, it's not a true dupe of Hypnotic Poison by Dior. Only the first 10 minutes are quite similar on me; then the scent transforms on my skin into a sister of Vanilla Noire by Yves Rocher with a sadly quite synthetic base note.

What a pity, these cookies must have stayed a bit too long on the baking tray...
